This project involved the phased refurbishment of the Grade I Listed RCA building.
Situated on the North-East corner of the Victoria & Albert site to provide state of the art conservation studios, laboratories and administration space for the museum’s conservation department.
Our role included project management of phase 1 of the Centre for Research & Conservation of the Arts at the Victoria & Albert Museum.
The project involved a particularly high level of interaction with the end users to establish a workable brief, taking into account the funding immediately available and that which may be secured in the future.
In addition, we managed an extensive migration programme to temporarily decant conservation studios, laboratories and other museum departments.
This also included moving ancient artefacts to different locations both within and outside the main South Kensington site.
Doing this enabled the construction works to take place.
