1. What’s your background in the technology world?
Cyber security is my background and I have been a seasoned executive building solutions for desktop, cloud and mobile platforms. I have a highly entrepreneurial skill set with 30+ granted patents, raising investment and building and managing international development teams. I also have experience with working with the media on current technology news items. I’ve founded companies both in Europe and the US from the ground up and raised over $80m in venture funding over 18 years.
2. What are the key changes you’ve noticed over the last 5 years?
A focus to online, a heavy emphasises on mobile, SaaS, blockchain and artificial intelligence. Also a significant amount of decentralised platforms than their ever has been before.
3. Current trends?
Blockchain, artificial intelligence and of course remote working is an obvious one. The biggest is obviously blockchain and what I mean by this is the decentralised, also decentralised finance chains that are coming in off blockchain. Remote working is just part of it the difference being is that the pandemic just accelerated this which has led to an exploitational growth in tech.
4. Why is fu3e. a game-changer?
fu3e. brings several different products under one umbrella. It visualises a lot of data that we can get lost in. It also ties both unstructured and structured data together, lots of people use structured data, like a salesforce but a lot of businesses still run with email attachments which we call unstructured data it coheres those two items together and puts it into a “single pane of glass” dashboard at the front.
5. What are its key features?
The main key features are visualisation, simplicity, and accountability.
6. Who is it aimed at?
The product is aimed at anyone at executive level or below within the status of a project. The hierarchy then cascades down to management teams responsible for project performance or management consultancies employed to deliver business solutions.
7. What are your plans for the platform?
To make the software more intelligent and visual.
8. Personal habits – gym or long walks?
Gym because it’s great for de-stressing you and keeping the mind focused. Exercise and sport is so important to me as they say a healthy body helps keep a healthy mind.
9. What’s on your reading list right now?
Anything by Simon Kernick, who is one of Britain’s most exciting new thriller writers. He arrived on the scene with his highly acclaimed debut novel; The Business of Dying; and his big breakthrough came with his novel’ Relentless’ which became the bestselling thriller of 2007 and is a top read.
10. Apple or Samsung?
I’ve used apple for years but recently wanted a more open ecosystem so have switched back to Android and Windows.
11. Do all techies wear black t-shirts?
Not all the time but t-shirts have become a standard uniform for most tech people now. I was once told in Silicon Valley, where I was working at the time, that if I turned up in a suit as a CTO most people wouldn’t take me seriously. How times have changed!
