Historic Royal Palaces
Hillsborough Castle has been awarded Project of the Year in Northern Ireland.
We are delighted that Hillsborough Castle has been awarded Project of the Year in Northern Ireland by RICS. We are proud to have acted as the Construction Manager on the renovation of one of Northern Ireland’s most important landmarks.
RICS commented that this was an exemplary display of traditional skills & workmanship working alongside modern surveying & delivery techniques.
F3GROUP acted as Construction Manager on the new visitor and community facility at Hillsborough Castle on behalf of Historic Royal Palaces.
F3GROUP took the project from RIBA stage 4 design to RIBA stage 5 construction phase.
The 100-acre project is set to improve the Castle’s visitor experience and increase the potential for larger visitor numbers, primarily through increasing the amount of car parking and making general access improvements.

Works include the creation of a new 1000+ space car park, a newly constructed gatehouse and courtyard, two visitor facilities (restaurant, cafe, shop, toilets, kitchen, an admission desk and staff offices), a new security pavilion, a refurbished walled garden, an estates operating base, a plant room, a boiler house and a conservation store.
The project was procured via the OJEU compliant Pretium framework, created to provide easy-access and low cost frameworks to organisations across the UK, focusing on delivering added value and excellent customer service.
Testimonial
I have found the F3 team to be very professional, flexible and proactive in managing the procurement, appointment and on site management of over 40 trade contractors. This has resulted in our programme of projects currently being on track for opening in April 2019 to the highest quality standards.
